ORTEC LEO Logistics Software: New Release provides added flexibility and comfort for SAP LES users

The ORTEC LEO (Logistics Execution Optimizer) Release from ORTEC offers more flexibility than ever before in load space and route planning along with a GUI that is even more comfortable and easy to use. This opens up exciting improvement options for logistics optimization in SAP LES.
New in ORTEC LEO Release: Once the SAP customer order is created, transport capacities planning along with graphical packing proposals are run. This allows for the customer to be informed on order quantity or delivery dates that may be more preferable, thus facilitating transport cost savings. A further new feature is the ORTEC LEO GANTT Chart. This diagram depicts the activities of planned routes as a bar with timeline and allows the user to re-plan by simply shifting the bar on the screen. The new street map in the ORTEC LEO Release is also a piece of cake to use. The user can define his own display profile, color code locations, trips and destinations and modify or create the displayed routes directly on the map. Routes can be depicted as straight lines or as a road coarse as desired.
“The new ORTEC LEO Release allows users to interactively use the professional pallet and load space planning features in the SAP ERP customer order, thus fulfilling the requirements for efficient load units and maximum utilization of the transport capacities within the supply chain,” says Stefan Althoff, Product Manager at ORTEC.
Summary: Along with the new graphical functions and enhanced ease-of-use of the GUI, the ORTEC LEO Release provides more comfort and an improved overview. By using the software at the order level, the user is able to save processing time coupled with the achievement of optimal load utilization and considerable cost savings. Future developments will entail the availability of further SAP documents such as stock transfer orders for the pallets and load space optimization.
