Complex order picking and warehouse processes for SAP

Description

ORTEC Warehouse Control and Picking supports optimal warehouse processes within SAP ERP. The SAP certified Add-On ORTEC Mobile Logistics Solutions (MLS) is fully integrated into the SAP Logistics Execution System (LES) and expands the WM warehouse management components by introducing additional warehouse processes.


ORTEC MLS supports a number of preconfigured warehouse processes such as pick and pack, pallet repacking, replenishment bin location management within a picking area and several fixed bin locations per article, along with management of “best when used before” dates and remaining shelf life dates, LES transport picking and much more. The infrastructure that ORTEC MLS provides supports the linkage of mobile end devices such as, forklift terminals, MDE devices or pick by voice systems –along with the integration of automation technology.

The key features of ORTEC Warehouse Control and Picking are:

  • Perform the order picking (“pull principle”) based on SAP shipments or SAP deliveries optionally based on the pre-optimized packaging proposals from LEO pallet and load building.
  • Creation of SAP WM transfer orders based on ORTEC LEO pallet and load building pack proposals
  • Confirmation of multiple SAP WM transfer orders simultaneously
  • Split order picking workload into feasible work packages based on warehouse relevant criteria and/or warehouse employees capacity constraints
  • Use of ORTEC MLS Picking Orders (MPOs) to break down complex warehouse processes (i.e. layer oriented picking, full pallet picking, etc.) into easy-to-handle system processes
  • Goods receipt, replenishment, relocation and picking workload balancing are all a part of the processes controlled optimally.
  • Optimized order picking with hand held terminals, pick-by-voice or simply on a piece of paper.
